Buttock Surgery Atlanta

Curves are in! Just take a quick glance in magazines, on TV or at the red carpet and you will see women flaunting beautiful hourglass figures. If you are looking to add fullness and curves to your backside you have several options. Diet and core (abdominal) exercises can whittle your waist. Resistance lower body exercises (lunges and squats, for example) can create definition and fullness in your butt. If these measures don’t work for you, you could also consider wearing padded shapewear. This is also a good option if you are nervous about a permanent alteration to your figure and for “trying on” different size bums to see what looks best on you.

If you are ready for a rapid, dramatic change, you might consider a surgical buttock augmentation. Dr. Jimerson offers two butt enhancement procedures: buttock implants and fat grafting to the butt and/or hips.

As the name implies, the implant is a solid silicone disc that is surgically inserted into the gluteal muscles. The incision is generally placed in the crease between the buttocks to hide it from view. The advantages of gluteal implants are it provides an immediate and dramatic contour and it is not affected by weight gain or loss.

The Brazilian Butt Lift involves the transfer of your own fat from undesirable areas of the body to the buttocks. I use liposuction to remove fat from the abdomen, flanks, back and/or thighs and carefully inject that same fat into the butt. Brazilian Butt Lift is my favorite way to enhance the tush for many reasons: it uses liposculpture to whittle the waist and flatten the tummy, and it feels very natural – both for the patient and to anyone else who might touch it. It is also very easy for me to adjust the shape and size of the butt based on your individual preferences. The Brazilian Butt Lift is the procedure I recommend for my patients who are looking for an hourglass figure and have some fat to spare.

Unfortunately, there are many disreputable individuals offering butt enhancement injections. These “butt shots” can contain anything – hydrogel, silicone, cement, caulk, etc. They are NOT administered by plastic surgeons and frequently are not given in a medical setting. I do not perform these injections. They are NOT approved by the FDA. They are frequently offered at a considerable “discount” when compared to plastic surgery performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon. This is a very risky practice and can lead to serious infection, permanent disfigurement and even death. I have seen many women who have undergone butt shots and seek my help when they are scarred and/or infected. Oftentimes, I am unable to offer any solution. Even if you do not want or cannot afford plastic surgery, please put your health and safety first and avoid these procedures!
